Base Station Kit

We've been running the Yeti Wurks Base Station as a permanent mesh relay in Fargo, ND since late 2024 — through thunderstorms, sub-zero temps down to -17°F, ice, snow, and wind gusts pushing 70 mph. Zero issues. No water ingress, no hardware failures, nothing. It just keeps working.
Performance-wise, we got nearly 5 miles of reliable coverage across a dense urban environment with the unit mounted about three stories up. That's not a cherry-picked number — it was repeatable, day after day, through buildings and trees. Compared to handheld nodes, this thing is in a different league for coverage and reliability.
The solar setup is legit. Four 18650 cells plus the included 5.5W panel kept us above 95% battery all winter with zero intervention. Truly deploy-and-forget. Just make sure you're using quality protected cells, especially if you're in a cold climate.
We tested it on both Meshtastic and MeshCore firmware. Flashing between the two was painless via the USB-C passthrough (no need to crack the enclosure), and it performed great on both. If you're building out a community mesh or just want a rock-solid backbone node, this does the job.
Only minor gripes: it's not exactly discreet, so if stealth matters to you, plan on some camo work. And I'd love to see Yeti Wurks offer a mounting baseplate or magnetic mount option down the road — we ended up using U-bolts, which worked fine but isn't included.
Bottom line: if you need a permanent outdoor relay that can take a beating and keep your mesh alive, this is the one. Easy recommendation.

I’ve been testing the Mesh Lab Solar Base Station Kit for a few weeks now, and it’s been excellent. The overall build quality is top-notch — everything fits together cleanly, the mounting system is sturdy, and the wiring is tidy and easy to work with. Once the solar panel was in place and I dropped in a pair of 18650s, it just worked.
The charging circuit has been solid through cloudy weather, and the station has stayed online without issue. You can tell a lot of thought went into making this kit easy to deploy and maintain in the field.
